I was assigned a new mission, which was to subdue some rebel forces in South City. Those missions were the most dangerous ones, but I had done them several times before, and was confident that all would go well. However, there was something off about this time, and that something was my brother. My brother Sam was a very unusual person. Like me, he worked in the United Forces, but unlike me he seemed to have an incredible skepticism towards our Government, PAPÆ. He was paranoid all the time, was disgusted every time he had to watch the evening shows, and seemed unwilling to salute the posters of our leader, Tiberius Caesar. I'm afraid his rebellious and weird thinking might lead him to trouble, and I'd hate to see him get captured by the Government, but if he kept this behaviour up, I would have to turn him over to the Government myself. His confusing arguments about freedom, right of speech, equality, and his speculations about how the Government was brainwashing us were getting worse by the minute. The reason why I was uneasy for his presence in this mission was that we would be treating with rebels and Untouchables, and that was something that might cause him to snap and somehow turn traitor.
In the South City UF Base I found myself lost in a corridor of endless doors. My superior had told me to bring him some important archives, located in room 202. Once I found the door, I started searching for the archives, but ended up with something else entirely. The archives were titled PAPÆ CONFIDENTIAL. I wasn't sure if these were the archives I was looking for, so I opened them to the first page to check. The first page read PLAGUE PROJECT EXPERIMENT. Instantly, I knew these were not the archives I had been sent to retrieve, but my curiosity was piqued, and I was already confused with all the nonsense Sam was talking about, so I decided to read it even if it was an act of treason. As I read I grew to realize that everything I had ever believed was wrong, that I and everyone else lived in a world of lies. The Plague was not the Untouchables's fault but the Government's, and they used the so called medicines to brainwash us into submission. I couldn't believe it, Sam had been right! I made a decision then, I had to leave the UF and the life I had been living and help others, bring the truth to the light. I could not sit back while innocent people were being oppressed. So I turned to the computer next to me and hacked into the system, and whipped my existence off the records of the Government forever.
I placed the archives back were they belonged and ran to the Recon Room to find Sam. But the moment I pushed the door open, and explosion shook the building apart and set the room on fire. I saw how Sam and an incredible number of other people were instantly disintegrated. Then a heat wave hit me and threw me back against a wall. I felt incredible pain in my stomach, and could barely open my eyes. Minutes turned into hours until in the midst of it all I could finally regain the movement of my legs. With stumbling steps and a pain filled body I disappeared, and was considered dead and inexistent by the Government and my fellow comrades.
